Jamie Gosling - Communications Manager
At Crewkerne RFC, the communications manager’s main responsibilities are to promote the club and its interests to members and the wider community, raising the club’s profile and boosting the popularity of the game locally by ensuring good news stories are communicated through the right channels. Jamie leads the PR of the club, has oversight of communication and manages the hospitality of the club.
Jamie’s first taste of rugby came at Wadham School between 2010-2013. He was one of many Wadham Sixth Former's who joined the club in 2014, which greatly helped the second team compete for the following season. Jamie made his first team debut later in 2014, making a substitute appearance away at Yatton RFC. It wasn’t until 2016 that he became a regular in the first XV, but has gone on to make 90 first team appearances and score 50 tries so far in his short rugby career. His centre partnership with fellow Wadham School friend Jake Krige helped the first team to promotion last season. He will now be helping to lead the first team to further success this season in his role as Vice Captain.
Jamie joined the committee in 2019 as the social media manager for the club. Following a successful year increasing social media content and engagements, Jamie was appointed communications manager ahead of the 2020/21 season. As well as managing the communications side of the club, Jamie is also one of two vice captains for the first team next season and the newly appointed backs coach for the ladies team. Jamie’s understanding of varied social media platforms, professional approach and passion for the club makes him a great fit for the Communications Manager!
